2D Animation

2D Animation Studios

2D animations are more basic than their 3D counterparts, but are still a popular choice. Displaying only width and length, 2D animations are the traditional animation style.

Although animation has changed significantly over time, with 3D animation practically taking over the cinema scene, 2D animation is still very much alive. We are proud to own facilities in our South African 2D animation studios that can accommodate various 2D animation requirements.

Our animation studios birth adorable, relatable, and ‘real’ characters that you’ll love! We can complete 2D animation projects that will exceed your expectations.

Take a look at some examples of our 2D projects below.

Is 2D animation in demand?

Although 2D animation is not our main focus, we get approached regularly about 2D projects. It depends on the needs and budget of our client. When used in relevant marketing strategies, 2D animation can boost conversion rates by as much as 20%.

The 2D animation process

2D animation involves three different stages.

Production

This is the stage where all the created materials get added together to produce the scenes. In this stage, the bare bones of the pre-production get fleshed out nicely, where scenes and character activities are formed, and the animation is cleaned up. There are other aspects that are brought in at this stage that include dialogue and music, animation layers, action and timing, etc.

Post-Production

Post-production is the final editing process of 2D animation. It is the polishing up phase where other effects are added in to bring the animation to life. Once it’s completed, it’s rendered and exported in different formats.
